Divemaster
The Divemaster course develops skills and knowledge for dive professionals to safely lead certified divers conducting Open Water Scuba dives and to assist scuba Instructors with training dives. The IDEA Divemaster course is designed to produce capable and competent dive professionals. Students who complete the entire course will have demonstrated the skills necessary to supervise open water scuba dives in conditions similar to their training, plan and execute emergency procedures, and assist scuba instructors with training dives.

The Divemaster certification is the first professional certification and allows for you to plan, execute, and lead/supervise open water dives in conditions similar to previous training for certified divers. You will also be able to plan and execute emergency procedures appropriate for your dive location. In addition, you will be able to assist IDEA Instructors during approved diving courses in conditions similar to previous training.
To participate in the Divemaster course you must be at least 18 years of age. You must have a minimum of 20 logged dives and have additional experience demonstrated by earned specialty certification or documented additional experience. You will have to complete a watermanship evaluation and demonstrate dive supervisor level of knowledge of scuba diving. You will also have to demonstrate mastery of scuba skills. Before completion of the divemaster course you must have completed a Rescue Diver certification.
